Golf Outing 2019

On August 6, 2019, the MCTLA held its annual golf outing at Metuchen Golf and Country Club. This year, our charity was The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer. MCTLA members raised over $4,000.00. This amount was matched by an anonymous donor for a total donation of over $8,000.00. The Board cannot thank our members enough for their generosity. The Frances Foundation is truly a wonderful organizations, and we are proud to have been able to support these kids this year.

Toys for Tots 2018

On December 6, 2018, the MCTLA held its annual Toys for Tots at Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub in New Brunswick. Our members always enjoy this event. As always, our members were very giving to this worthy cause.

Breitkopf Award 2018

On November 1, 2018, the MCTLA held its Breitkopf Awards Dinner. We were honored to present the Breitkopf Award to Kathleen S. Murphy, Esq.: the first woman to receive the award. The Honorable Owen C. McCarthy, J.S.C. spoke of his experience working with Kate at Connell Foley. We would like to congratulate Kate on all of her wonderful accomplishments and her receipt of the 2018 Brietkopf Award.

Golf Outing 2018

On August 7, 2018, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held their annual Golf Outing. We had 80 golfers participate and we were very happy to donate all profits to the Special Olympics. We look forward to working this wonderful organization in the future.

Toys for Tots 2017

On December 7, 2017, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held its annual Toys for Tots drive. Once again, our members did not disappoint. We were able to fill two cars with unwrapped toys for local children.

On December 8, 2016, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held its annual Toys for Tots Drive. The generosity of the Trial Lawyers was on full display when the Marines came to take away new unwrapped gifts for local children. We look forward to continuing our support of the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.

Golf Outing Donation 2016

On August 2, 2016, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held its annual golf outing. All of the money raised went to one of our own: Christopher Killmurray, who is battling brain cancer. At the golf outing, we raised $15,000.00. As checks continued to come after the outing, we ultimately raised $20,000.00 to help our friend, Chris, as he fights on.

Golf Outing Donation 2015

On Friday, October 9, 2015, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association presented a check in the amount of $1,350.00 to Elijah’s Promise. The funds represent half of the amount raised during our 2015 golf outing. Tom Barlow and Kenneth Harrell were pleased to present the check to representatives from Elijah’s Promise, Lewis Walker, Mahogany Johnson, James Zullo, Audrey Serra and Concepcion Narvaec.

Breitkopf Award Winners Dinner

On August 12, 2015, the past winners of the Breitkopf Award gathered at the Frog and the Peach. This is the second year for the informal dinner, which we hope will become an annual event for this “League of Extraordinary Attorneys”. Unfortunately, Michael Lombardi and Jack Simons were unable to attend this year. Of course, this group will forever miss the influence of Morris Brown. However, the group will grow as each new inductee is added to the guest list.

MCTLA 2015 Annual Golf Outing

On July 28, 2015, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held its annual Golf Outing at Metuchen Golf and Country Club. Seventy-three golfers participated and more came for the dinner and auction. Through our auction, putting contest, and mulligan sale, we raised $2,660.00 for charity. John E. Toys for Tots

On December 4, 2014, the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association held its annual “Toys for Tots Cocktail Hour” at the Old Bay Restaurant. The event marked the end of an outstanding toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots, and served as the beginning of the holiday season. As usual, the members of the Association, Judiciary and others were very generous with their toy donations, which will certainly help make Christmas a little brighter for a lot of children.

We were fortunate to have two Marines in attendance to escort the bags of toys back to their post. Their presence in dress blues certainly helped to bring attention to Toys for Tots, and made this event memorable for all who attended.

Breitkopf Awards Dinner

On October 23, 2014 the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association, celebrating its 54th year held its 10th Annual Breitkopf Awards Dinner, at the Colonia Country Club at which time The Honorable C. Judson Hamlin, J.S.C (Ret.) was presented with the Herman L. Breitkopf Award.   Speaking on behalf of Judge Hamlin were Alan Dunst, Esq., and Peter Hendricks, Esq., both past recepients.  In attendance were 17 of the Associations past Presidents, all of the past award winners with the exception of the late Morris Brown, and many of Judge Hamlin’s former law clerks, Public Defenders and Prosecutors.
Many thanks to all who attended including the Judges, both currently sitting and retired who joined us.  As always, we appreciate your support.
